Welcome from the ISHIMR Committee Co-Chairs

It is our pleasure to welcome you to the 14th International Symposium on Health Information Management Research (ISHIMR 2009) in Kalmar, Sweden.

This year’s theme is “Evaluation and implementation of e-health and health information initiatives: international perspectives”. Hosted by the eHealth Institute at the University of Kalmar, in collaboration with the Centre for Health Information Management Research (CHIMR) at the University of Sheffield, ISHIMR 2009 brings together people who are carrying out, or are interested in, research and developments in health information management and health informatics. ISHIMR 2009 provides a forum for the presentation and discussion of research activities in health information management and health informatics.

ISHIMR 2009 is an opportunity to share experience and understanding of the process of implementation and evaluation in e-health within the health informatics and health information management community. The conference will be of interest to researchers, healthcare professionals, managers and planners, working in this important, and fast-moving, field.

We therefore welcome paper submissions and delegates from the international healthcare community, particularly those with teaching/research responsibilities in health information management and health informatics, with clinical responsibilities, and those involved in provision of information and knowledge services.

This conference is an excellent opportunity for you to meet other health information academics and professionals from all over the world, creating an opportunity for networking, collaboration, and international knowledge sharing.
